Lady Gaga se quedó con tres estatuillas: la primera por su interpretación de Shallow -parte de la película Nace una estrella- junto a Bradley Cooper en la categoría mejor dúo pop, la segunda por Joana (Where do you think you're goin'?), que fue elegida Mejor performance pop solo, y la tercera por en la categoría Mejor composición para medio audiovisual también por Shallow.
El tema This is america de Childish Gambino fue distinguido como Grabación del año, Canción del año y Mejor video musical. El galardón a Álbum del año fue a manos de la cantante de música country Kacey Musgraves, por su trabajo discográfico Golden Hour.
